Re: [linux-tr] Two auto 16/4

I have fought this battle too long. I've pulled the TR cards, and donated the
whole shebang to a local church. I'm going to go out and get a couple ethernet
cards. I had used LanAid to disable autosense and set the ring to both 4 and 16
Mbit speeds, neither worked. Of course, now that I've pulled the cards, neither
KPPP nor sound work. Errrhh! 8*(

As I mentioned in another post, and I would like to just repeat it so that
there is no misunderstanding.

You must use LANAIDC to:
1. Set ring speed to 16Mbit
2. Turn OFF Auto-detection.

If auto-detect is ON, the ring-speed setting will just try to autodetect in
the specified ring-speed first.
Or have you already tried this?

Nope. Got a mau. And I've tried forcing the speed using lanaidc.
Mandrake
Linux 6.0, and Redhat both are unable to initialize the cards and report
and
error message that they are postponing the initialization till later.
Though I
do notice at shutdown that the cards are shutdown correctly (at least I get
the
green OK).
